The latter being the main driving force of the Harvey’s team, “this is for the future of Philippines MTB, not for us,” race organizer and Harvey’s partner Joaquin Redilla aka Pis Wakin tells us. “We want them to experience bigger things and then hopefully, global things.”
Despite the obvious competitiveness of racing, at the epicenter of the Harvey’s National Downhill Series lies a fervent and unshakable dedication to camaraderie. Pis tells us that it’s “…through shared experiences on the trails and moments of triumph and even failure,” that the series endeavors to forge enduring bonds and mutual respect among riders from diverse backgrounds, across the Philippines.

The very first leg of this year’s series will be held at the ultra-popular, ultra-steep but mega fun playground of ONE CAVITE DOWNHILL ALLIANCE race track, located in Tagaytay. The track, as seen in the preview video above, features multiple switchbacks, well-built features, fast and steep sections, and a bit of pedaling — all coming together for a complete and challenging MTB race that’s sure to excite not just the racers and the riders, but the audience and community as well.
