During this time, I had the opportunity to push its limits, to race against the clock, and to explore the local outdoors like never before.

In all the adrenaline-fueled rush of downhill descents to the grueling challenge of uphill climbs, the SB165 proved itself to be a formidable companion. THE BUILD

Additionally, the bike’s optimal length suited my height well (even if a bit small), providing a balanced feel without any sensation of the back end wandering too much.

Playful Dynamics and Feather-light Build: Credit must be given to the 27.5-inch wheels, which lent the SB165 a playful and dynamic feel. From jumps and hops to tight turns, these smaller wheels added a level of agility that kept me smiling from ear to ear. Despite its robust performance, the SB165 surprised me with its lightweight construction. It’s undoubtedly one of the lightest bikes I’ve ever had the pleasure of riding, making climbs and technical sections that much more manageable– especially with the INFINITY LINK.

SETTING IT UP AND SENDING IT

Dominance on Descents and Effortless Uphills: Descending with the SB165 was an absolute blast. Thanks to its aggressive but impeccable geometry and shorter wheelbase, finding grip and maintaining control was a breeze. The bike’s agility and maneuverability made tackling even the most challenging downhill sections really fun. Similarly, ascending with the SB165 was equally impressive, thanks in part to its innovative infinity link design. This feature isn’t just hype; it genuinely enhances performance, ensuring the bike remains lively and responsive even on steep climbs.

Simple Setup and Set-and-Forget Maintenance: Setting up the SB165 to suit my preferences was as easy as 1-2-3. From adjusting suspension settings to dialing in other components, the bike responded effortlessly to every tweak, allowing me to fine-tune my ride with ease. Once I found the perfect setup for my riding style, I never felt the need to make any further adjustments.

The SB165 proved to be a “set and forget” kind of bike, consistently delivering performance without any fuss– ‘di siya maarte.

Impressive Speed and Versatile Performance: The SB165 wasted no time gaining speed downhill. VERDICT

I would have LOVED to spend more time with the SB165, raced another race with it, but I’m scheduled to leave for the US (I’m actually here in California now while you’re reading this) and had to return the bike to its stable early.
